Memorial Day in Buena Vista, CO

About 2.5 hours outside Denver is a beautiful gem called Buena Vista - which literally translates to 'Beautiful View'. I don't need to tell you how gorgeous it really is, I mean it is all in the name.

But to give you a starting idea, imagine rolling green hills spotted in elk, deer, and antelope. Quaint creek beds cutting back and forth through the tall eastern plain grass where cattle and other animals sip water. Sprawling ranches and horses covering the valleys all the way up into the pine-covered foothills. Every moment of the ride back was peacefully inspiring.

Several friends made the short trek to San Isabel National Park, just outside Buena Vista. We spent our Memorial Day weekend playing yard games like corntoss and polish frisbee, and the nights hanging around the bonfire. The trip was organized by an ex-military friend and all his comrades, and they have held this camping trip in honor of fallen friends for five years straight now.

About 40 people were there the second night and it was ridiculously fun meeting new people and telling stories. I took some short video clips while I was there, and decided to make a quick film about the trip. I haven't done one of these in a while - and it was really fun to try something different.
